Conference theme: "Joining languages, cultures and visions"


The Conference subjects include (but are not limited to):
-   Design cognition
-   Design Thinking
-   Interaction Design
-   Knowledge based design
-   Intelligent, interactive and responsive environments
-   Project management
-   Organizational transformation
-   Advanced geometric and parametric design
-   Building performance analysis and simulation
-   Heritage modeling and reconstruction
-   CAD education
-   Collaboration and communication
-   Digital making and prototyping
-   Digital tools for ideation
-   Simulation and performance evaluation for sustainable design
-   Virtual and augmented reality


The conference will consist of plenary and parallel sessions, extraordinary sessions, workshops and a poster session.


Attendees are invited to participate in the conference in the following ways:
-   Submit a full-length paper on completed research relating to the Conference theme (now closed).
-   Submit a poster describing ongoing research; there will be time for oral presentations of posters.
-   Submit a proposal for an ideation and digital creativity workshop.


Papers both in English and in French are accepted.
For the Conference proceedings, the Organizing committee will provide a translation of the abstract of each paper to the other language as well.


The best presented papers will be published in a special issue of IJAC or Design Studies.

Guidelines and a template for formatting the final paper are available in Word Format (.doc). Papers should not exceed 14 pages in conference format


Submit a poster abstract

Guidelines and a template for formatting the poster abstract are available in Word Format (.doc) and PDF. Abstracts are not to exceed 2 pages in conference format and will be published in the conference proceedings (upon registration of at least one of the authors by 30 April).
Poster format: One sheet in format A1 or 24"/36"
Poster orientation: Both Portrait or Landscape are accepted


Proposals for workshops
should be submitted as a descriptive text of about 1000 words directly to the Conference Chair: grcao@umontreal.ca


Ideation and creativity workshops are welcome.
Workshops will be held on 15 and 16 June.
The text of the proposal should include the workshop title, chair(s), goals, workshop format and method of inscription (or admission) of participants.
